A few weeks ago I cooked something for my family. My brother helped me a little bit although he had to study for an exam…he is studying engineering in Zurich. However He loves to help me in the kitchen…ok, not always but sometimes π Our creation this time was chicken in a champignon sauce, served in a pepperoni with salad. Yummi! π I must say I added too much cream, but it tasted delicious!
Food
Late post
So folks, I’m back! Sorry for the delay but I was busy doing…you know stuff π anyway! I cooked a loooot of stuff I want to show you in the next few days. So, keep following me π won’t let you wait again. And also, i’m flying to New York in two weeks, so there is gonna be a looot of posts about the city that never sleeps. Oh yeah, and if the weather is fine, we will also have a short trip to MontrΓ©al and Quebec. π yeah, cool huh?
Veggie is on!
Today I went with two school mates to this famous vegetarian Restaurant Hiltl. Just wow! There is a big buffet with vegetables, salad and other delicous stuff. π I strongly recomend this place to everybody, not only for vegetarians. I must admit it’s
a bit expensive but the food is absolutley amazing and worth it! you find more information under: http://www.hiltl.ch/de. Anyway, I thought I could cook more vegetarian stuff at home…maybe I’ll make falafel with my friend this week…let’s see π
What the Chervil..?
This wednesday my boyfriend drove me home to wΓ€denswil where my father lives. I thought it would be great to cook something healthy for my family… as it is now season I bought some asparagus at this new shopping center near the highway… I took a recipe from the magazin annemarie wildeisen’s KOCHEN π just love this magazine! they have very nice recipes… Did I mentioned that I always get this magazine for free? cool he? π anyway the dish is called asparagus with ham π it is very healthy
and delicious. While I was cooking I forgot to add some “chervil”…didn’t know what the hell that is but the dish still tasted very good :D…I added some coriander instead mmhhh…LOVE CORIANDER!!!…anyway next time I’ll try it with kerbel (german ;)) maybe it tastes bad hehehe
Japanese Food
I must admit I am not a big fan of japanese food. Especially Sushi..I really don’t understand what people like about seaweed and raw fish…ok sushi looks very cool, it’s IN and very healthy…I would love to like it but I still can’t really deal with the idea of eating it :S ewww…I promised my boyfriend to go out and try some sushi but I can still not overcome it…..BUT there is more then just sushi! For example Miso Soups or instant noodles and I must say it tastes not bad WOW! Ok now you ask yourself, why is she writing about japanese food when she doesn’t like it? the reason is that the company I work for has a loooooooot of japanese specialities! All the stuff looks so cool and I just loooove the japanese language and writing! to bad I don’t understand it. Anyway the food we have is about to expire and I’m extremly sad that soon we would have to throw away all this food! I am so sad and desperate right now that I wrote a mail to my class and tow big bags with a lot of food to the university to donate it to the students. The people were very sceptical about taking some stuff but at least some showed interest and tried some snacks and hey they were enthusiastic π now I have a lot of stuff at my fathers and my boyfriends place and I have no idea if we are going to eat all that stuff. The bad thing is that I can’t really eat much of that food because I noticed that in japan they use a lot of glutamat and flavor enhancers and my digestion doesnt really agree with that :S My body seems to be very demanding when it comes to food.
